I'm one of the folks behind the National Folklore Survey for England and today we launch a new podcast called Folklore Matters. For the next six weeks, we'll be releasing one episode a week where we talk to someone who is working with folklore in some capacity — collector, practitioner, researcher —to find out what drew them to folklore, and how they work with it. Crucially, we want their thoughts on the Survey, too.

Our first episode is with Richard Bradley, otherwise known as Weird Derbyshire. You can find it in all the usual podcast hotspots, or you can read more on our website here.
Folklore Matters is produced by Sophie Parkes-Nield, edited by Diane Rodgers, and presented by David Clarke, Sophie Parkes-Nield, and Diane Rodgers. With thanks to all our guests, Dr Lily Canter for her expert advice and guidance, Paul Dorrington for the music, and to Mark Pashley for accommodating us in the radio studio at Sheffield Hallam University.
