I am really saddened to learn that fRoots, the folk and world music magazine, is unlikely to continue past its summer 2019 issue.
Not only has fRoots given me plenty of writing opportunities over the years, it’s been one of my main sources of information to find the music, the bands and artists that I love. Its absence is going to be sorely felt.
One bittersweet consolation is that I played a tiny part in what looks to be the final issue. I had the fortune of catching up with and re-interviewing one of my favourite fiddlers and songwriters on the contemporary English scene, Mikey Kenney You can get a copy here.
