I always like to be thinking about my work in progress, even when I'm doing other things or haven't the energy or inclination to write. In the novel I'm working on for my PhD, I've invented a calendar custom which incorporates a dole involving currant buns. So I've baked my Cornley Thankstide buns and promptly eaten them, all in the name of research.
