I've just come to the end of teaching a life writing course for the Tameside Health and Wellbeing College, and what a six weeks it was! I had the pleasure of working with some wonderful people, producing some powerful work, and we had great discussions about all aspects of life writing, from presenting real life people on the page to how we might 'plot' our lives for the reader.
I was mightily impressed with the College, too. Part of a network of 'recovery colleges' across the UK, Tameside Health and Wellbeing College offers a range of different courses to people experiencing poor mental health and is staffed by people with lived experience. I found the College to be extremely friendly, warm and welcoming and I would love to work there again – watch this space!
