Rejections matter

Yesterday I had the most heartwarming rejection. Beardance told me that although my short script hadn't made the cut for their 'Texts in Isolation' initiative, it had made the longlist of 20 – from 400 submissions. Beardance didn't need to tell me that, and they certainly didn't need to offer me feedback either, but the fact that they did and have makes a wealth of difference to a writer who is sending her work out into the world.
